Sweden: Political Classification
[ send me this paper ]
7 pages in length. The writer discusses how Sweden's government, Riksdagen, is a unicameral system that has been in existence since 1970, drawing its political power from being a parliamentary democratic monarchy with three hundred forty-nine members where the Head of State is the king, but he has no authority in the governing of the state. Parliament is responsible for passing laws, as well as controlling State incomes and expenditures. Unlike an autocratic dictatorship, Sweden's government cannot arbitrarily impose new taxes; rather, the existing laws, in conjunction with Parliament, have the combined necessitated for taxation with the working relationship between government and Riksdagen serving as the people's protective force against undemocratic increases. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

[ send me this paper ]
11 pages in length. Australia is one of the world's most diverse continents, offering up a multitude of cultures, religions and languages in order to accommodate its vastly variant population. Its political makeup is considered by some to be outdated and in need of a major overhaul, with critics noting how the Opposition -- whose original purpose was to balance the two-party system -- no longer serves a purpose. Australia's language is primarily English along with a large percentage of natives who speak their own tongue, while three types of faith represents more than 75% of the population. Task Force Report: An Assessment of the Federal Arbitration Act
[ send me this paper ]
This 15 page paper provides an analysis of the Federal Arbitration Act as it relates to international arbitration and commercial dispute resolution. This paper pretends that the author is a leading authority on international commercial dispute resolution who has been appointed to head a federal task force to study the manner in which the Federal Arbitration Act can improve the treatment of international commercial disputes. The Task force was asked to take due note of the FAA's age, coverage, developments in other jurisdictions, the emerging popularity of alternatives to arbitration (notably mediation) and the increasing use of advances in telecommunications to both engage in international commerce and process disputes arising therefrom. This report is a specific, detailed argument in support of reforms to the current system under the FAA. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
